Welcome to the 2008 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft!

Welcome to the 2008 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft!  My name is Brian Galliford, head blogger at Buffalo Rumblings and one of a trio of "hosts" for this year's second annual mock draft.  TheSportsGuru of Mile High Report and this blog's very own draft guru, Matt Miller, have joined me in going to great lengths to provide you - SBN NFL blog fans as well as NFL Draft fans - with the most interactive and informative mock draft we can possibly offer.  (So if you're visiting this morning from another excellent SBN NFL blog, be sure to create an account here to make comments on each pick!)

Here's how this works - each NFL blog community of SB Nation (plus a few guests) will be playing decision-maker for the NFL team that they cover.  Each "GM" will make their team's selection, back up the selection with analysis, and then Matt Miller will take it from there with analysis of the player and pick.  We sincerely believe that you won't find a more insightful and accurate mock draft anywhere else leading up to draft day.

More details:

  • 3 picks per day.  We plan on posting three picks per day here, so be sure to lock your browsers in to Mocking the Draft and check back morning, early afternoon and evening!
  • No Trades.  Last year, we included trades in our mock draft, which made for entertaining discussion but also caused delays.  We're eliminating trades this year in the hopes of getting you picks as quickly as possible, so feel free to offer trade suggestions in the comments section.
  • Two Rounds.  We went three rounds last year, and time was short when we wrapped up.  This year, we will go two rounds - but if we find that there's extra time, we may decide to try to squeeze out that third round.  Stay tuned for an update on that situation.
  • Partnerships.  Partnering with New Era Scouting, each pick will be chock-full of player analysis; we're really excited to have Matt's input on each and every pick this year for that reason.  We also have a second partnership in the works that we'll announce over the next couple of days.

So grab a chair, create a free account, and get comfortable, folks - the 2008 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft begins right now.  The Miami Dolphins, represented by the fine folks at The Phinsider, are now on the clock!

Wow

Look at all these Rumblers!  Yes, Miami is on the clock, but the card is making its way to the podium, so to speak... :)

Just so you folks are aware

We're attempting to establish a 3-post-per-day schedule on this site during our mock draft.  Our scheduled posting times are, loosely, 10AM, 3PM and 8PM (East Coast time).  This will help you in checking in for picks; we, of course, encourage comments 24/7.

The Dolphins pick is in; we're polishing up the post and should have it up by our 3PM deadline.  Hope you enjoy it!
